Ma'aleh films address a range of important issues facing Jewish communities in Israel and the Diaspora, and are excellent trigger materials for debate. The films contain no nudity, violence or coarse language and, with few exceptions, are suitable for audiences aged 16 and up. Please browse our catalog to see which films interest you. All you need to do is to click on an individual film and click again on the camera icon to get a 3 minute excerpt. Films made in 2007 and onwards also have a "Behind the Scenes" clip. Most films, though not all, have Hebrew dialogue with English subtitles.
If you would like some ideas about how to build a film workshop using Ma'aleh films, please see Seminar Topics, where films are grouped according to theme.

A Ma'aleh Film workshop for a group lasts 2 hours and consists of the screening of 3 short films, plus presentation by a Ma'aleh staff member or graduate (in either English or Hebrew), with time for questions and discussion between the films. Either 3 very different films can be shown, or 3 films with topics which center around an important issue in Jewish or Israeli life. You may bring your group to the school (our theater seats a maximum of 60) or have a Ma'aleh presenter come to you to give the workshop, as long as you can provide screening facilities.
Ma'aleh has welcomed hundreds of groups of all ages and backgrounds over the years. We work with the Jewish Agency, Birthright, Masa, The Israel Experience, JCCA, Young Judea, HUC, Torah Mitzion, and many other organizations. If you are programming an unforgettable Israel trip for a group this is a unique opprotunity to meet young Israeli filmmakers presenting cutting edge Israeli films with vibrant Jewish content. To arrange your visit please contact Cheli Rosenberg by filling in the form below or write to her at cheli@maale.co.il
Cheli will be happy to discuss the needs of your group and advise you on which films will be most meaningful for your audience.
